Why should you choose us?
Our tests of strength are proven
We’ve been through COVID-19, a catastrophic global health disaster. This was followed by the staggering collapse of the local economy and the uncertain political landscape which transpired.
Undaunted through the challenges of COVID
When the world came to a standstill, it was imperative we did not. Being a vital part of keeping the health sector seamlessly operative, we had to keep to our normal shifts and schedules. Which we did. Medicines were always there wherever needed.
Our operation continued as always, uninterrupted. Our fleet had curfew passes, as did our workforce. We provided our staff with transport and food. We practiced COVID safety protocols at all our premises including temperature checks, hand washing, sanitising, being masked and social distancing.
The entire process kept going as usual, with the most important part of medicines and equipment to hospitals with patients in dire need, being delivered without a miss. We were amply recognised and rewarded by all our principals.
Unbowed through the devastating economic crisis
To those unfamiliar with the economic crisis of 2022, it was an unprecedented time of anguish for the entire population with no exclusion of caste, creed, ethnicity, wealth or age. It’s often referred to as the worst humanitarian crises since independence in 1948.
An extended drought dried up sources for generating hydropower. The shortage of foreign currency squeezed importation of fuel, cooking gas and non-essential imports. March 2022 saw the Central Bank declare bankruptcy. Long power cuts prevailed. Fuel stations witnessed queues as far as the eye could see in which people spent days, nights and some sadly even breathed their last. Queues for cooking gas, food and essentials were all you could see.
Again, our fuel storage tank guaranteed power for warehouses, fuel for deliveries and staff transport were unhindered. A massive black market thrived for fuel as distribution of diesel was strictly prohibited by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. An exemptional approval was obtained for refueling with the decree of secured fuel to not be transferred as per the Petroleum Corporation Act. This was diligently observed while bowsers delivered diesel direct to our facility.
Our operations were sustained undeterred.
